Like fellow teammate Darrell Stuckey, Jamal Greene graduated from Washington High School where he was recognized by Rivals.com as the third-best recruit in the state. He was a varsity letter winner for football and basketball and maintained a high GPA for academic success.

Jamal Greene decided to redshirt his 2006 season with the Kansas Jayhawks football team. By 2007, he was a back-up defensive player and he made 7 tackles throughout the year.
